New Hips service from Skipton

In preparation for the implementation of Home Information Packs (Hips), Skipton Building Society has launched a new service aimed at helping homeowners cope with them.
As of August 1st, homeowners selling a property with four or more bedrooms will require a Hip, and Skipton is offering a service for £349, including VAT. It will be available in all of its 79 branches across the UK or through its website.
Those homeowners who decide to use a Skipton Hip between August 1st and December 31st this year will have the price of the Hip reimbursed if they then decide to take out a mortgage on their new property with Skipton Building Society within 12 months of the date of their Hip.
Steve Aldous, general manager of sales & marketing, at Skipton Building, said: "Gordon Brown has been in office for 29 days and despite what the pundits have predicted, at this point HIPs are still firmly on the agenda.
"Whilst many of those planning to offer the packs have since changed their mind we feel it's important that sellers are not left in the lurch. Therefore, we're here to help with the house buying process, offering one of the most competitively priced services on the high street."
