Greenroad Technologies reinforces Safety Center solution

Van Insurance News - Published: 17/09/2007
US company Greenroad Technologies has announced that it is expanding upon the continuing success of Safety Center solution.

Safety Center works as a driver rating system and has been shown to benefit both fleets and insurance companies. It rates drivers as red, amber or green (best) depending on their on-road behaviour.

A recent study carried out by the firm in conjunction with T-Mobile showed that fleet driving improved dramatically over six months from 69 per cent red and ten per cent green drivers to 25 per cent red drivers and 38 per cent green.

Fuel consumption in the trial fleet fell by 2.8 per cent, with the average accident cost reduction achieved by customers standing at 65 per cent.

The solution also lowers driver crashes by 54 per cent, independently-adjudicated studies have shown. On the back of its programme's success, Greenroad Technologies has announced that it has established new headquarters in Silicon Valley, as well as opening a branch of offices in the UK.
