New board member appointed at FSA

Carolyn Fairbairn was awarded the post in an announcement by economic secretary to the Treasury, Kitty Ussher.
The non-executive role will take effect from December 11th 2007.
Ms Fairbairn will combine the role with her board membership of Strategy at ITV where she takes decisions on strategic and regulatory matters.
Before joining ITV she held a senior position at the BBC.
Her CV includes stints as a financial and economic journalist as well as being in charge of media practice, McKinsey.
FSA chairman Callum McCarthy said: "I am delighted to welcome Carolyn to the FSA.
"She will help to ensure that we continue to have a strong and varied Board board can be lowercase with wide and relevant experience."
Ms Fairbairns appointment would add a "breadth of experience" to the board, Ms Ussher added.
In related news, the FSA is conducting a Retail Distribution Review.
This seeks to address any problems in the financial services industry concerning the distributions of retail investment products.
It expects to publish initial feedback in October 2008.
